Muslims — If a person finds the Quran detestable, what can they do to legitimately change your mind on issues?

I just don't understand why Islams can't edit their book like how the Bible was edited to fit the needs of nonviolent and some what, logical people. It was written back in the day when there wasn't any stability when it came to law or justice. Same w/ the Bible until it was edited a few times.
