So Joseph Smith beat Harold Camping to the punch?

i'm sure there were many more long before joseph smith. you'd think that by now people would have learned to NOT try and predict the end of the world. especially if you believe in Jesus. Jesus said no one but God the father knows when, so for someone who claims to follow Jesus to do this is inconceivable to me!
